Police Blotter: A Spate of Smashed Car Windows

Reports from the 72nd Precinct.

When it Rains, It Pours

A Windsor Terrace man retrieved his car from an impound lot last week to find that his camera—left inside the car—had been stolen.

The 48-year-old victim told cops that his car, a white CR-V Honda, was towed by a Carroll Gardens-based tow company last week. He picked the car up and, two days later, noticed that his Lumix digital camera was missing.

Two separate instances of car break-ins were reported in Windsor Terrace last Sunday.

The first occurred around 12 p.m. near Seeley Street and Prospect Expressway. The victim, a 19-year-old Windsor Terrace resident, said he approached his car to find the back window of his Honda shattered, and his Garmin GPS gone.

The second instance took place roughly four hours later, when a Windsor Terrace man encountered a similar situation with his white BMW.

The 44-year-old victim was planning to move his car, which was parked near Prospect Park West and 18th Street, only to find that the driver's side window had been broken, and his iPod was gone.

No arrests have been made.

Stolen Bicycle

A woman's bicycle was stolen from the front of her Windsor Terrace home last Wednesday.

The victim, 45, had locked her Cannondale hybrid bike to the fence outside her house near East 3rd Street and Greenwood Avenue, only to find it missing when she returned.

No arrests have been made.
