Air Bag Affront

A Windsor Terrace woman's car window was smashed and its air bag stolen on May 13.Â
The victim, 24, told cops that she returned to her car, parked on Prospect Avenue near Vanderbilt Street, to find that the rear passenger side window was shattered and that the air bag—valued at around $800— had been yanked out.

Arson on East 2nd Street
An environmentally-unfriendly arsonist set fire to a pile of papers slated for recycling on May 15.
According to police, the blaze burnt not just the paper, but the sidewalk and concrete porch in front of East 2nd Street near Vanderbilt Street.Â
Nearby surveillance cameras caught some footage, but no arrests have been made.Â
High School Phone Heist
A Bishop Ford student's iPhone was snatched from out of her bag while she was at school on May 16.Â
According to police, the 14-year-old student was chatting with friends in the school's cafeteria, when she was informed by another student that someone had snuck the phone from her bag.Â
No arrests have been made.
DOT Van Destruction
A Department of Transportation van was the victim of a smashed window on May 17.
The van's driver told police he parked the vehicle on Ocean Parkway near Fort Hamilton Parkway and returned to find that the driver side window had been broken. Miraculously, nothing was missing from the vehicle.Â
