Police Blotter: Smashed Car, Missing Purse

Snatched Purse

A California woman visiting her sister in Windsor Terrace had her purse stolen last Monday.

The victim, 26, left her purse inside a larger tote bag while she was working in Manhattan, leaving it in the care of a friend for around 30 minutes. When she returned to her sister's apartment on Prospect Park West near Prospect Avenue, she realized it was gone.

The items stolen include various debit and credit cards, as well as a Tory Burch wallet valued at around $500.

Hit and Run

An Illinois woman's car was hit while parked in Windsor Terrace last Monday.

The victim reports that her 2002 Honda Civic was parked near the northeast corner of East 7th Street and Caton Avenue when it was smashed by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.
