Police Identify Two Suspects in Windsor Terrace Sex Assault

A 34-year-old woman was assaulted on June 26 outside 586 16th St., according to the NYPD.

WINDSOR TERRACE, BROOKLYN — The NYPD has identified two people of interest in its ongoing investigation into an attempted sexual assault in Windsor Terrace last Sunday, Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said Thursday.

At 3:50 a.m. on June 26, a 34-year-old woman walking outside 586 16th St. was grabbed by a man who attempted to pull off her underwear, police said.

A chilling surveillance video released by the NYPD shows the woman fighting off her attacker, who repeatedly punches her in the legs before running away.

Boyce said two suspects have been identified, and will be shown to the woman for identification.

Both suspects live in the general vicinity of the crime, Boyce said.

Detectives describe the attacker as a white man in his 20s with curly black hair, standing about 5-feet-11-inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and slacks, according to the NYPD.

Windsor Terrace is patrolled by the 72nd Precinct. Through June 19, a total of 12 rapes had been reported in the 72nd, according to official police statistics, compared to 6 during the same period in 2015.
