Police Seek Help Locating Sunset Park Bank Robber

A man walked into an Alma Bank and left in a getaway car with a bag full of money.

Police in the 72nd Precinct are searching for a man who made off with an undisclosed amount of money from an Alma Bank in Sunset Park on May 8.

According to police, the suspect on walked into the bank, located at 140 58 St., and told the teller that he wanted to open a bank account with his girlfriend, who was not there. He then made a phone call and handed the phone to the teller. The person on the other end told the teller that suspect present had a gun and would harm him and his family if he didn't hand over money. The teller complied, and the suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash in a dark BMW driven by a female with blond, highlighted hair.

The suspect is described as a black man between 25 and 30-years-old, roughly 5-foot-9 with a medium build. He was wearing a black shirt, black jeans and a black baseball cap with a multicolored handkerchief underneath it.
