Teen Found Dead in Prospect Park Lake

PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN — A 19-year-old teenager was found dead in Prospect Park Lake on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Shortly after 1 p.m., a 911 call reported a man in the lake near the intersection of Wellhouse Drive and West Drive, police said.

Responding officers found the teen floating in the water. He was removed, and pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, according to the NYPD.

The teen's cause of death will be determined by the city's medical examiner. An NYPD spokeswoman added that there were "no apparent signs of trauma to the body."

The victim's name had not been released as of Wednesday afternoon.
