
1. The arrival of spring means lots of great outdoor activities, but Prospect Park staff wants to remind visitors that feeding the waterfowl is not one of them. Turns out those large hunks of Wonder Bread are actually no better for the geese and ducks than they are for you, since it can keep them from sticking to their natural diet of plants, grains and invertebrates. Now you know!
2. The members of Compost for Brooklyn will be joining their cohorts over at Sustainable Flatbush on April 17th for an evening of talking dirt—specifically, Brooklyn Dirt. The event will be led by members of both groups, who will share advice on founding, motivating and evaluating for grass roots organizations. More information is available here.
3. If you've got some time to spare today, consider spending it beautifying Prospect Park. volunteers pick up trash around the Audubon Center and Lefferts Historic House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those interested can register online here.
