The Early Word: 66th Precinct Council Meeting is Tonight

News on the upcoming St. Patrick's Day Parade, Kensington Stables Spring Break Pony Club and Thursdays@7 at the Brooklyn Museum.

1. The 66th Precinct will hold its monthly community council meeting at 7:30 p.m. at 5910 13th Ave. As always, the public is invited to come learn about the latest crime impacting neighborhood streets, straight from police themselves.

2. Dig up your potatoes and dust off your shillelaghs, everybody: St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner. Brooklyn will be celebrating with its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday afternoon, and you won't need to venture far from home to enjoy the fun—the route begins at 15th Street and Prospect Park West, loops up 7th Avenue into Park Slope and eventually makes its way back down. Visit the parade's website for the exact route and more details.

3. Today is the last day to register for Kensington Stables' Spring Break Pony Club, in which young equine enthusiasts can take a break from the books to learn to ride and care for horses. The mini-camp is intended for kids ages 6 through 11-years-old, and will be held on April 9-13 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with extended hours available. Visit the Kensington Stables website for more information.
