The Early Word: Win Start-Up Capital From Brooklyn Public Library

After a drizzly weekend, we return today with weather a little more characteristic of March than the idyllic spring days that defined last week. In fact, the temperature tonight is expected to dip into the 20s, so we hope you didn't lock away your blankets and sweaters just yet.
Here are five things you should know today:
1. Police are on the lookout for the parents of a baby abandoned in Sunset Park on Saturday afternoon. The boy, who police said is between 2 and 3 months old, was found in a car seat in the foyer of a building on 62nd Street near 4th Avenue. He was transported to Lutheran Hospital, and is reportedly in good condition. Read the full story .

2. Bring the little ones for at the Windsor Terrace branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. This particular story time is geared toward children ages 3-5, but check out the events calendar for other story times and activities for kids of all ages.
3. Also at the library, the 2012 PowerUP! Competition offers future entrepreneurs a chance at winning $15,000 in start-up capital. Don't know where to start? The library offers free classes like creating business plans, marketing, financial projections and doing research with library resources. Open to all Brooklyn residents.

4. Have you seen this cat? According to a post on Brooklynian, he has been missing from his Prospect Avenue home since late last week.
