The Early Word: Compost for Brooklyn's Block Party Needs Volunteers
What you need to know, pre-coffee.

1. Compost for Brooklyn is looking for volunteers to help out at its annual Block Party, to be held from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on June 3rd. Interested? Email claude@compostforbrooklyn.org for details.
2. A new dog treat dispenser will soon be installed in front of Sean Casey Animal Rescue, after the previous one was stolen last month. According to KARMABrooklyn Blog, supporters of the shelter ponied up the $300 needed for a new dispenser in less than six hours.
3. Head to Namaste Yoga in Kensington on Friday for a bit of end-of-the week meditation. Participants can stop by for a few minutes, or stay for the full three hours. The session lasts from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. and costs $5 per person—refreshments included. Email for w1617r2000@yahoo.com for more information.
