The Early Word: Intern or Volunteer at Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace

1. New Flying Teapot classes are available for babies and toddlers starting on Saturday, May 12th. Flying Teapot for Toddlers, held at 10 a.m., and Flying Teaspoons for Babies, held at 11:30 a.m., allows the little ones to express their budding creative sides with music and movement. 2. The is looking for interns and volunteers! Teens ages 13 to 19 are encouraged to attend the Y's "Teen's Volunteer Open House" on Saturday, May 12th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature a resume writing and interview skills workshop, as well as information about upcoming internship and employment opportunities. Oh, and most importantly: Free food.

3. A free pain prevention workshop for moms and moms-to-be will be held today at 8 p.m. at the Hootenanny Art House, located at 428 15th St. A trained physical therapist will teach strategies for sleeping and sitting while pregnant, how to take your baby in and out of the crib without hurting your back,  methods for comfortably playing on the floor and more. 4.The 72nd Precinct will hold its monthly community council meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Mariem Heim Center, located at 4520 4th Avenue. Come if you're concerned about a crime-related issue in your neighborhood, or just want to hear the latest updates straight from the officers patrolling your streets.
