Watch: Blessed by Pope, Wheelchair-Bound Brooklyn Girl Believes She'll Walk Again

Julia Bruzzese's legs have reportedly deteriorated due to a mystery disease.

A wheelchair-bound seventh grader from St. Bernadette School in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, broke down in tears on Thursday after Pope Francis blessed her at JFK Airport.

“He was coming over, and I asked him to bless me,” Julia Bruzzese, 12, told NBC New York. “I kissed his ring, and he put his hands on my forehead and he blessed me and he looked at me.”

“It means that he’s going to give me a miracle,“ she said.

When asked by a reporter what kind of miracle she’s looking for, Bruzzese replied, “To walk again” — then broke down in tears.

The 12-year-old is reportedly suffering from a condition that caused her to lose all feeling in her legs in May, then lose her ability to walk or move her legs in June.
