Where Did These Come From?

"No Standing" signs baffle some Windsor Terrace residents.

A new set of "No Standing" signs at Prospect Park Southwest and Windsor Place came as a baffling surprise to some residents accustomed to, you know, standing there.

There was speculation at February's Transportation Committee meeting that perhaps the Department of Transportation had placed the signs in error, but as it turns out, this is not the case.

According to a DOT spokesperson Nicole Garcia, a request was made by a community member to enhance safety at the intersection. The DOT surveyed the area and determined that indeed, a No Standing regulation (a procedure known as "daylighting") would improve motorist visibility for pedestrians.
