13-Year-Old Accused Of Stealing Audio Speaker

YORKTOWN, NY — A 13-year-old Yorktown boy was arrested Sunday after being accused of stealing an audio speaker.

The Yorktown Police Department said the teen, whose name is not being released, was charged with juvenile delinquency, with the underlying charge of misdemeanor petit larceny.

Police said, around 2:15 p.m. Sunday, officers received a report of a past domestic incident.

An officer responded and met with the victim, after which an investigation was started.

The victim said the teen stole her audio speaker, which was worth $800, and refused to return it, spurring an argument about it.

Around 10 p.m., the victim called the police saying that the teen returned home.

Officers met with the 13-year-old and the victim, and the teen was issued a juvenile appearance ticket.

The teen was released to a parent and is due to appear in the Westchester County Department of Probation Sept. 1.
