2 Illegal Assault Weapons Seized, 1 Arrested After Police Operation In Westchester
Yorktown and Westchester County police executed an "Extreme Risk Protection Order" at a 49-year-old's home.

YORKTOWN, NY — A complaint from a neighbor led to the seizure of two illegal firearms and the arrest of a homeowner, according to police.
The Yorktown Police Department says that a 49-year-old Yorktown resident was arrested for felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
On June 26, police officers responded to a home on Sagamore Avenue after receiving a complaint from a neighborhood resident. After an investigation, the suspect was identified as Demian Kassetas.

Based on the information from the initial report, on June 30, several Yorktown police officers executed an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) search warrant at that address.
During the investigation, Yorktown police, with the assistance of the Westchester County Police Department, seized two alleged assault weapons from the home.

After the investigation was completed, Kassetas turned himself in on Thursday, at Yorktown Police Department headquarters, where he was arrested.
After processing, and arraignment at the Yorktown Justice Court, he was released on his own recognizance.
Kassetas is due to appear back in court on December 4.
