3 Major Retail Stores Coming To Former Kmart In Yorktown
No opening dates for the stores have been announced, the property's owner said.

YORKTOWN, NY — The defunct Kmart store in Yorktown will see three national retailers open for business.
T.J. Maxx, Michael’s and Five Below will come to the empty big box store at 335 Downing Drive in the Yorktown Green Shopping Center, according to a news release from the town.
Deputy Supervisor Ed Lachterman said the Town Board has helped facilitate a renaissance for the property in the center of Yorktown Heights’ business district.

“And we will soon see the results of our work,” he said. “We will continue our economic development work by focusing on other local shopping centers that require re-imagination.”
Eden Kongoli, vice president of Oster Properties, the plaza’s owner, said his company was thrilled to welcome the three stores to the shopping center.

“These new stores will not only enrich our retail offerings but also contribute to the vitality and vibrancy of our community,” he said. “We look forward to providing an exceptional shopping experience for all our visitors.”
No opening dates for the stores have been announced. Oster has a request before the Yorktown Planning Board for alterations to the former Kmart.
T.J. Maxx is a department store known for fashion and home goods. Michael’s is an arts and crafts retailer, and Five Below is a specialty discount store with most of its products at $5 or less.
