Amawalk Resident Plays 2nd 'Jeopardy!' Game

AMAWALK, NY — A northern Westchester County woman tried and did not success after returning to “Jeopardy!” Tuesday for a second time.

Katie Palumbo, who is a 2010 graduate of Somers High School and a museum interpreter, dethroned a three-day champion on the quiz show Monday, but came up short Tuesday.

She lost during Final Jeopardy to Vince Bacani of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Bacani ended the show with $13,000 to Palumbo's $2,400 after none of the contestants had the correct answer.

The Amawalk resident’s one-day total winnings were $23,100.

Palumbo unseated Yogesh Raut of Springfield, Illinois, whose three-day winnings were $96,403.

In a video on the “Jeopardy!” website, Palumbo was overheard saying her winnings will help her achieve a major adult milestone.

“I’m completely out of college debt right now!” she said, giving a high five to one of her competitors.

“Jeopardy!” can be seen on WABC-TV at 7 p.m.
