'Art Fantasies' Special Exhibition At Yorktown Assisted Living

CORTLANDT MANOR, NY — An art exhibition, a lifetime in the making, will offer a unique glimpse at a special place and those who call it home.

What happens when a premier assisted living community becomes home to renowned artists, musicians, and cultural icons? Well, if you are Yorktown Assisted Living, the answer is a vibrant celebration of art, and timeless creativity with an art exhibition titled Art Fantasies on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., held on the Yorktown Assisted Living campus at 2276 Catherine Street.

This free event is open to the public and promises a captivating afternoon of fine art, music, and conversation. Guests will enjoy curated hors d’oeuvres, cocktails by the Cocktail Carriage, and a live performance by nationally known pianist and composer Cary Brown.

- Bill Melvin (ASAA) – Renowned commercial artist will exhibit WWII aviation watercolors
- Robert Preston – Prize-winning concert pianist will present some of his hand-printed photography
- Grace Colesanti – Self-taught artist will share paintings inspired by her international travels
- David Malis – Internationally acclaimed opera baritone, with The Barber of Seville playing in tribute
- Norma and Peter Stanford – Founders of South Street Seaport Museum will display their book A Dream of Tall Ships
- Antonietta LaRosa – Will showcase a stunning, hand-crocheted American flag blanket
- Lanette Finical – Will shares a rare Ethiopian painting of the Queen of Sheba’s visit to King Solomon
Original artwork created by participants in Yorktown’s art therapy program led by Beth Patane
