Back-To-School Supplies Drive At Jefferson Valley Mall

Anyone who brings school supplies valued at $5 or more will receive a voucher for a free ice cream cone or Nathan's hot dog.

YORKTOWN, NY — A back-to-school drive at the Jefferson Valley Mall Friday promises a reward to people who donate.

Anyone who brings school supplies valued at $5 or more for the “Stuff the Bus” drive will receive a voucher for a free Mr. Softee cone or Nathan’s hot dog followed by a free screening of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” in the mall parking lot at sundown.

Yorktown Supervisor Tom Diana said the community has a generous spirit.

“This event is a fun way to teach children about the importance of sharing with those who are less fortunate,” he said.

The donation drive will occur in the parking lot outside of Flame Asian Bistro from 7 p.. until 8:15 p.m.

Vouchers will be distributed while supplies last.

All donated school supplies will be given to Saint Mary’s Pantry in Mohegan Lake.

The event is being sponsored by the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce, the Jefferson Valley Mall, Valley Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics and UMAC Nation.
