Dutchess County Man Accused Of Harassment In Yorktown

Police said the threat was made through electronic communication.

YORKTOWN, NY — A man from Dutchess County was accused of threatening someone in Yorktown.

The Yorktown Police Department arrested James E. Brien, 62, of Hopewell Junction, and charged him Tuesday with second-degree aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor.

Police said, shortly before 9 a.m. April 19, officers were sent to a location on Deer Street for a report of an aggravated harassment complaint.

Following an investigation at the scene, police said Brien placed the victim in fear by threatening to do harm through an electronic communication.

Brien surrendered himself at the Yorktown Police Department on Wednesday.

He was released on his own recognizance to appear in Yorktown Justice Court May 28.
