Early Voting Continues In Yorktown Special Election

YORKTOWN, NY — Early voting for the Yorktown special election has begun.

Voters in the town are being asked to choose a new supervisor to replace Tom Diana who died in January.

On the ballot are Deputy Supervisor Ed Lachterman, who is running for supervisor on the Republican Party line, and Jann Mirchandani, who is running on the Democratic Party line.

Early voting locations are Albert A. Capellini Community & Cultural Center Gym, 1974 Commerce St. (enter from the Veterans Road entrance to the back of the building) and the Jefferson Village Annex, 3500 Hill Boulevard.

Early voting is available through Sunday, April 14.

Here is the schedule for the remaining days:

  • Monday, April 8, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 9, from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 10, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 11, from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Friday, April 12, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 14, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The election day for the Special Election is Tuesday, April 16. If you choose to vote on that day, vote at your usual polling location.

Lachterman has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 40 years. He has served on the Town Board since 2016. He and his wife own two small businesses in Westchester. Lachterman also serves as a board member in the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Business Council of Westchester.

Mirchandani is a small business owner who has more than 35 years of executive board experience working with numerous nonprofits, including currently serving as council commissioner for the Greater Hudson Valley BSA and on the board of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce.
