First Arbor Day Celebration in Yorktown is on May 6 at 3 p.m. at the Patriot Garden, the newly opened park behind the commuter lot next to Town Hall, which is designed around the Old Put Railroad Turntable.
Recognized will be Tree Stewards in the community, people whose commitment to the environment and efforts on behalf of trees and preservation are note worthy.
Students who participated in the Poster Contest will be honored, and the posters will be displayed in the Board Room at Town Hall.

4-year-old White Spruce saplings (native New York grown) will be given away. These saplings are between 4 and 6 inches tall.
Refreshments will be served and there will be information on the care of trees at tables.
