Yorktown High School Presents Twelve Angry Jurors

Students from Yorktown High School will present a dramatic adaptation of Reginald Rose' s Twelve Angry Jurors for three performances during the second weekend in November.

"This performance offers students some very interesting acting possibilities, within a nicely honed arc for both character transformation and the unfolding of the story," director John Johnson said.

The play tells the story of the deliberations of a jury who must decide the fate of a man accused of murder.

The play, revised in order to accommodate a gender-neutral cast, was originally presented as a televised play, and was adapted to stage in 1955. Two years later, Henry Fonda starred in the film adaptation 12 Angry Men, with many of the original cast members.

Performances will be on Friday and Saturday, November 12 and 13, at the high school auditorium at 7:30 p.m. The closing performance will be Sunday, November 14 at 2 p.m. Tickets will be $8 per seat, and will be sold in the high school cafeteria the week prior to the show, and at the door.
