Felony Charges After Vehicles Secretly Towed Away From Yorktown Property: Police
The suspect was already in the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections when investigators found him, cops said.
YORKTOWN, NY — A different sort of auto theft led to the arrest of a Westchester man, according to police.
The Yorktown Police Department says that a 39-year-old Yonkers man was arrested and charged with felony second-degree grand larceny, felony third-degree grand larceny, and felony fourth-degree grand larceny.
On Aug. 31, 2024, at 5:36 p.m., Yorktown police responded to a Strawberry Road address after receiving a report that several vehicles had been stolen from the property.

After a monthslong investigation, Yorktown police concluded that Marcus Powell used a tow truck to have several vehicles removed from the property.
An arrest warrant was issued for Powell, and on Monday, the Yorktown Police Department was notified that he was in the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections.

After officers headed to W.C.D.O.C. and took custody of Powell, he was taken to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for arrest processing.
Powell was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and remanded back to the Westchester County Jail.
