After an investigation, officers determined that a burglary had taken place with lottery tickets stolen by several suspects.

Detectives were able to identify three suspects who they believe committed this burglary, but were not immediately able to locate them. Arrest warrants for the three suspects were then applied for and issued by the Yorktown Justice Court.

Yorktown police were recently notified of one of the suspects, John Edward Villar-Villa, being held in custody at Rikers Island for an unrelated incident.

On Tuesday, an officer and a detective headed to Rikers to arrest Villar-Villa and bring him to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for processing.

Villar-Villa was arraigned and released on his own recognizance, with an appearance scheduled in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday.
