Harry Potter Multimedia Experience Set To Open In Westchester

The Forbidden Forest Experience takes you through the woods on an illuminated light trail in FDR Park.

YORKTOWN, NY — The opening of “Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience” is rapidly approaching.

The multimedia experience, which celebrates iconic scenes from the Harry Potter films, begins Oct. 22 at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Park in Yorktown.

Yorktown Supervisor Matt Slater said, for the past three years, the Town Board has been focusing on attracting businesses, cutting red tape for entrepreneurs and promoting investment opportunities in the community.

“It is gratifying that the wizards behind the Harry Potter attraction recognize Yorktown as a target market that can deliver local consumers while welcoming an influx of families from throughout the region to enjoy our destination shopping and dining opportunities,” he said. “As our current promotion states, ‘Yorktown has it all for fall’.”

In the enchanted woodland, people will encounter nighttime sounds, lights and special effects that bring the magic of the Wizarding World to life, according to organizers.

The experience lasts up to an hour and a half as you wind your way through the woods on an illuminated light trail in the park.

Tickets for "Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience" range from $36 to $75 for adults and $25 to $64 for children, depending on the session date and time. The attraction’s hours will be from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

At the end of the trail, there will be a quaint village where you can enjoy food and drink and browse a gift shop with merch from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies.

The outdoor experience was created by Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment in partnership with entertainment discovery platform Fever, theatrical designers and experiential creators Thinkwell and global experience design and delivery agency Unify.

The FDR State Park is located at 2957 Crompond Road in Yorktown Heights.
