The voters decided on the $196,915,496 Lakeland schools budget and which candidates will serve on the board of education.

SHRUB OAK, NY — The ballots are in and voters have decided on the 2025 budget and school board.
Here are the unofficial results.
The proposed Lakeland Central School District spending plan of $196,915,496 passed, with 761 voting yes and 485 voting no.

The new budget is 2.87 percent higher than the current budget.
The tax levy is expected to be increased by 1.8 percent.

Proposition 2 (bus/vehicle bond) passed, with 825 votes for yes, and 423 votes for no.
Proposition 3 (capital reserve fund) passed, with 814 votes for yes, and 435 votes for no.
Three school board seats were up for election. Adam E. Kaufman (732 votes), Michael Marchese (747 votes), and Marianne DiSalvo Kolesar (766 votes) were reelected to those seats.
