Lakleland HS Field Hockey Wins Regional; Headed to NYS Tournament

Lakeland High School Field Hockey will head to the New York State Class B Championship this Saturday, November 10, being held at Williamsville High School just outside Buffalo.

Lakeland defeated Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 1-0 on Saturday (Nov. 3) in the Regional final held at LHS’s home field. Julianna Cappello scored the winner off a Julia Cummings corner at 22:01 of the second half. Lakeland defeated the Albany school in last year’s state semifinals 3-0. Lakeland is 21-0.

The Hornets will face Afton High School (near Binghamton) at 12:30 pm in the semifinals Nov. 10.
