LI Woman Accused Of Lifting $1,855.26 In Skin Care Products From Westchester CVS: Police

The 31-year-old woman was already at the Westchester County Jail, before being arrested and charged again, Yorktown police said.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Long Island woman was already in jail when police caught up with her in connection to a brazen theft from a Yorktown CVS, according to police.

The Yorktown Police Department says that a 31-year-old East Moriches woman was arrested and charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny.

On September 15, around 2:56 p.m., police officers responded to the CVS Pharmacy located on Commerce Street, after they received a report of a larceny.

Once at the scene, officers determined that the suspect, later identified as Deanna Belmonte, allegedly entered the store and stole several skin care products valued at $1,855.26. After viewing CCTV footage, police were able to obtain a description of the vehicle she left in.

On September 29, an arrest warrant was issued for Belmonte.

On Thursday, Belmonte, who was being held at the Westchester County Jail on unrelated charges, was then transported by Westchester County Department of Correction officers to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for arrest processing.

She was then arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Jail. Belmonte is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on November 13.
