Yorktown Resident Publishes First Novel

Kristina Iennaco, born and raised in Yorktown, has just published her debut novel entitled This Time Around. Somehow between volunteering for Relay for Life and being the web designer for the Yorktown Lions, Iennaco found time to write publish her first novel. In fact, the sequel is ready to be printed.

The road to publishing This Time Around is quite intriguing. Kristina actually started the novel a few years ago, but never made much progress. As she describes this experience, “It wasn’t until last summer when I found my first draft that really returned to writing. Writing and figuring out how to self- publish was a long journey that gave me a much greater appreciation for other authors and their work.”

This Time Around is a fictional story that follows the main character Georgia Fields as she takes a second chance to jolt herself from a rather mundane existence. The reader will observe Georgia as she figures out family secrets that have been dormant for years. This novel combines a mix of romance, self-discovery, excitement, and surprises. The direct sequel, which will be published in 2022, is entitled So It Goes.

The book’s cover may be as mesmerizing as the content. Kristina designed and created the cover on her own so she could acquire the copyright. “Every different piece of the cover,” according to Kristina, “is an important shout out to the story itself.” As one reads, the cover will begin to make sense for the reader to appreciate.

Kristina’s initial book signing was fittingly hosted by Yorktown Pizza and Pasta, her favorite pizza restaurant. After reading a selection from the book, Kristina shared information about how to never give up on a dream, how to self-publish, and how to advertise your own book. Due to her perseverance, Kristina will appear next at “Celebration of Local Authors,” hosted by the Croton Free Library on Sunday, May 15 from 12:00 to 3:00. She, and other local writers, will read from their books and then sign purchased copies. Presently, she is pursuing other avenues to advertise her book.
