MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Registered voters in the mid-Hudson Valley went to the polls Tuesday to vote in a special congressional election and two primary elections.

The special election is to fill a vacancy in the current 19th Congressional District caused by Rep. Antonio Delgado being appointed lieutenant governor by Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Republican Marcus Molinaro, the Dutchess County executive, is running against Democrat Pat Ryan, the Ulster County executive.

As of 11:15 p.m., Ryan is receiving 52 percent of the vote, with Molinaro at 48 percent. The number of election districts reporting are 565 out of 622.

The winner will serve in Congress through the end of the year.

Other races are:

  • The Democratic primary for Congressional District 17 is between Alessandra Biaggi and Sean Patrick Maloney. Maloney wins.
  • The Republican primary for Congressional District 17 is between Charles J. Falciglia, Michael V. Lawler, Jack W. Schrepel, Shoshana M. David and William G. Faulkner. Lawler wins.
  • The Conservative primary for Congressional District 17 is between William G. Faulkner and Michael V. Lawler.
  • The Democratic primary for Congressional District 18 is between Pat Ryan, Moses Mugulusi and Aisha Mills. As of 10 p.m. Ryan is ahead in the 18th CD primary with 83 percent of the vote. Forty-nine of 239 elections districts have reported.
  • The Democratic primary for Congressional District 19 is between Jamie Cheney and Josh Riley. As of 10 p.m. Riley is ahead of Cheney 64 percent to 33 percent. There are 264 election districts out of 850 reporting.
