Obituary: Alice May Samuels, Lifelong Yorktown Heights Resident
Samuels was a life member of the Yorktown Heights Engine Co. No.1 Women's Auxiliary for 70 years.

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY — Alice May Samuels, (née Smith) a lifelong resident of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022. She was born in 1930, in Yorktown Heights, NY, to Frank and Madeline Smith and was a fourth generation Yorktowner.
She married Seymour Samuels on July 25, 1948, who predeceased her in 2010. Together they were blessed with five children: Renée (Tim) of Holmes, NY, Michael of Yorktown Heights, Gary (Eddie) of Washington D.C., Sandra, and Sheryl, both of Freehold, NJ. Alice was blessed with six grandchildren: Kimberly Samuels and Michele Samuels both of Wappingers Falls, NY, Lauren Anderson of Lincroft, NJ, Jessica Samuels of Greenville, SC, Seth Renz and Alyssa Renz both of Holmes, NY; and three great-grandchildren: Piper, Ariel, and Atlas.

Alice was also a life member of the Yorktown Heights Engine Co. No.1 Women's Auxiliary for 70 years. She was honored in 2020, on her 90th birthday for her service to the Women’s Auxiliary and the community. Alice is also survived by four of her six siblings, Edith, Nancy, Robert, and John, and was predeceased by Frank A. Smith and Ann M. Ducady who was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary.
Alice was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was commonly known by many as “Nana.” She will be dearly missed by all who have known and loved her.

Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights, NY. The funeral service will also be at Clark Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday morning, followed by interment at Amawalk Hill Cemetery, Amawalk, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the following charities would be appreciated: Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, American Red Cross, PetSmart Charities or American Cancer Society.
