Olive T. Sabato of Somers, NY, passed away Saturday July 16, 2022, in Purdy’s, NY at the age of 96.

Olive was born February 19, 1926, in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Phillip and Olive (Kelly) Johann. Olive received a full scholarship for her undergraduate studies followed by the completion of her Masters in Art Education from Columbia University. She then worked as an elementary art teacher in Greenwich CT, retiring in 1986. Olive spent her free time painting, singing, and spreading her love with family and friends.

Olive was predeceased by her husband Robert C. Sabato in 2004. She is survived by her daughters Mary (Peter) Smith of Jamestown, NC and Jean Morley of North Salem, NY, as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church in Somers, NY and burial followed in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Somers.
