Ossining Man Accused Of Leaving Yorktown Accident With Injured Victim Trapped In Car: Police

The 33-year-old driver hit the other vehicle, and then fled the scene on foot, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Westchester man has been charged after leaving the scene of a serious crash, according to police.

The Yorktown Police Department says that a 33-year-old Ossining man was arrested and charged with felony leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious physical injuries, and several traffic infractions.

On Sept. 8, around 5:54 p.m., Yorktown police received several 911 calls about a two-car accident with injuries and entrapment. Officers at the scene helped the injured and launched an investigation.

Police say the suspect hit the other vehicle, and then fled the scene on foot. Officers later identified that suspect as Jhonny Robalino Troya.

Troya surrendered himself at Yorktown Police Department Headquarters on Sept. 10. He was issued an appearance ticket and summonses. Troya was released on his own recognizance, and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on Sept. 23.
