Police Blotter: May 21-May 27
Police arrest shoplifters, three males for throwing a water balloon at a school bus, a man falsely reporting a hostage situation, and they help with captured bats.
May 21
1:47 p.m. Police received a call from Baumann Bus Co. reporting that one of their school buses was being struck with unknown objects thrown from another vehicle while transporting students on Crompond Road. Officer Pietraniello arrested 19-year-old Marcus P. Eagel of Yorktown, 19-year-old Patrick J. Collins of Somers, and a 17-year-old Yorktown male whose name is withheld because of his eligibility for youthful offender status, for allegedly throwing a water balloon, cracking the windshield of the bus and causing it to swerve in the roadway.
8:13 p.m. Police arrested a 20-year-old Yorktown Heights resident for driving while intoxicated, after police officer Timothy Kolkmann investigated a property damage accident on Burgess Road. Thomas Lee was charged with driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor; and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more, an unclassified misdemeanor.

May 22
6:53 a.m. Police received a call about a dog in distress, that it was possibly drowning at Franklin D. Roosevelt Park. Upon arrival the dog was ok. He had been chasing ducks and got too offshore in the water.

1:01 p.m. Police received a call that a man fell in the road and was possibly intoxicated. Upon arrival of Officer Paul Grieve, the local resident returned home and did not need medical help.
4:25 p.m. Police received a call from a Sears security reporting that an unidentified female fled the store in a maroon Jeep after stealing assorted clothing and jewelry from Sears. A short time later, the alleged vehicle was stopped by Officer Ryan Noon on the Taconic Parkway south. The female was identified as Tinamarie J. Lobue of Port Chester, and the male operator was identified as Christopher Riechers of Mahopac. Officer Brian Nicholson responded to the scene to assist. Lohue allegedly stole assorted clothing and jewelry totaling $428.95. Riechers and Lohue were arrested. They were also charged with a criminal possession of a controlled substance.
May 23
4:35 p.m. Police received a call from a Sears security reporting a shoplifter in custody. Officer Ryan Noon arrested 46-year-old Lourdes M. Chica of Peekskill, for allegedly exiting Sears without paying for a pair of earrings valued at $20.
4:57 a.m. Police received a call from a female at 806 Pines Bridge Rd. reporting a subject being held at gunpoint. Officers Paul Grieve, Christopher O'Rourke and Stg. James Graham responded to the scene. Upon investigation, the incident was unfound. Later that day at 7:45 a.m. an 18-year-old Ossining man was arrested for allegedly falsely reporting to the police.
May 24
11 a.m. An ambulance was requested from Granite Springs Rd. for a subject with an amputated finger. A landscaper had caught his finger in the lawnmower and was transported to the Westchester Medical Center via Yorktown Ambulance Corp.
9:37 p.m. Officer Samuel Sansone responded to a report by Okinawa restaurant, 28 Triangle Shopping Center, that a vehicle had been running for the last two hours with a dog locked inside. Upon arrival, it was established that the air conditioning was on for the dog and there were no problems.
May 25
10:43 a.m. An Indian Hill resident reported a violation of a family court temporary ordered of protection. Officers Peters and Griggs were assigned. The husband was subsequently arrested for second-degree criminal contempt.
11:04 p.m. Officer Timothy Kolkmann responded to a call of a bat in the house. The bat was turned over to the Westchester Department of Health. There was no known contact between the bat and residents.
May 26
4:00 p.m. Police received a call about a burglary at the Grace Lutheran Church, 3830 Gomer St. Someone had entered the church reception area and damaged property valued at $250, and stole property valued at $180. Reporting police officers were Sgt. LaPlaca and Det. Perrotto.
May 27
11:35 a.m. A woman walked in to the police station to turn over a bat captured at a Carolyn Way house in Somers. The bat was found on the bathroom ceiling. An exterminator from Pets Care was called in and at around 9:30 a.m. the bat was captured and placed in a coffee container.
8:01 p.m. Police officer Mark Rapisarda responded to a report of burglary at a Hollywood Street residence. It was revealed that the residence was entered and $1,310 worth of jewelry was stolen. Police developed a suspect and arrested 26-year-old Matthew Stebbins of Mohegan Lake. He is charged with burglary and grand larceny.
