Police: Phoenix Academy Youth Punches Another Teen

A 17-year-old Manhattan male faces a criminal charge in Yorktown for allegedly punching another teen during a dispute at Phoenix Academy, said. 

Phoenix Academy staff reported the Aug. 15 incident to police, who began an investigation. Police said the defendant allegedly punched another 17-year-old male during a dispute at the facility for troubled boys. 

The defendant, whose name police did not release due to his eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor.

The teen was arrested and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $1,500 bail. He was scheduled to appear in on Aug. 23.
