Police: Queens Woman Steals Shirts, Shoes from Marshalls

A 29-year-old Queens woman faces a criminal charge after she allegedly stole several shirts and shoes from Marshalls in Mohegan Lake, state police said. 

Lilliana Varela was inside the Marshall's store in the Cortlandt Town Center on Aug. 18 when she allegedly took several men's and women's shirts, women's shoes and concealed them inside tote bags, police said.

The defendant allegedly exited the store without paying for the items, but was stopped by Marshalls loss prevention team. The total value of the items taken was $324.86, police said.

Varela was arrested by the New York State Police at Cortlandt for petty larceny and released. She was scheduled to return to the town of Cortlandt Court on Friday, Aug. 24.
