Services Set For Yorktown Highway Employee Killed On The Job

Visitation for Jake Anthony Arcara will be on Monday.

YORKTOWN, NY — Funeral services have been announced for a Yorktown Highway Department employee who was killed while working on a drainage project.

Jake Anthony Arcara was struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning while working on London Road.

Town officials said the circumstances of the accident continue to be investigated by the Yorktown Police Department, though they said it was caused by an 88-year-old town resident.

On Facebook, the town asked for prayers for Jake's fiancé Katie, his mother and father, Kelly and Jack, and "all who knew him including the Yorktown Highway Department."

Visitation for Arcara will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Clark Funeral Home, 2104 Saw Mill River Road in Yorktown Heights.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1377 East Main St. in Shrub Oak, followed by interment at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 101 Mill St. in Putnam Valley.

Arcara was a 2011 Lakeland High School graduate and worked for the town since 2017, according to a GoFundMe fundraising page organized by Marie Rose.
