Services Set For Yorktown Police Lt. Kenneth Sgroi, 37
The lieutenant who was with the Yorktown Police Department died Monday after a short illness.
YORKTOWN, NY — Funeral arrangements have been announced for a Yorktown Police Department lieutenant who died after a short illness.
Lieutenant Kenneth Sgroi died Monday, the department said. He was 37.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Yorktown Funeral Home, 945 East Main St. in Shrub Oak.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Church, 137 Moseman Rd. in Yorktown Heights.
Burial will follow Saturday at Assumption Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor.

In a Facebook post announcing Sgroi death, Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble said the lieutenant is survived by a wife and two children.
Noble said Sgroi was an outstanding police officer and an “even better man.”
On Wednesday, members of the Yorktown Heights Fire Department, along with members from Millwood Fire Department, the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Empress Emergency Medical Services, paid tribute to Sgroi above the Taconic State Parkway as his body was returned to Yorktown from a New York City hospital.
