HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With a forecast calling for possible severe weather over parts of the Hudson Valley for the start of the work week, it should be no surprise that a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued.

The National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Monday.

The watch area includes Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties.

Earlier in the day, the weather service said there was a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms, mainly during the afternoon to evening hours.
