Somers Native Honored by SUNY Oneonta Athletics

Thomas Bond, of Somers, was the recipient of the Outstanding Single Performance Award for the 2015-16 year with SUNY Oneonta Athletics Dept.

The SUNY Oneonta athletics department held its 27th annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 3 and honored 14 student athletes as major award recipients.

Thomas Bond of Somers, NY was one of the major award winners for the 2015-16 year.

Bond was the recipient of the Outstanding Single Performance Award. Bond's performance came during the regular season against No. 2 and defending national champion Cortland on Apr. 10. Although not figuring into the 3-2 victory in extra innings, he went nine innings and struck out a career high 11 batters.

The Outstanding Single Performance Award goes to someone who has had a performance that is record-setting or game-changing.
