Stabbing In BJ's Parking Lot Leads To Attempted Murder Arrest

The Yorktown resident allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck with a large kitchen knife, and still had the knife when arrested, cops said.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 26-year-old was arrested over the weekend for attempted murder after a bizarre incident at a local shopping center, according to police.

On Sunday, at 11:25 a.m., Yorktown police officers responded to the BJ's parking lot on Crompound Road after receiving a report of a victim stabbed in the neck with a knife.

An officer found a suspect matching the description given by the victim, attempting to flee the area on foot.

Police say the suspect, identified as Yorktown resident Jared Hunter Alongi, stabbed the victim in the neck with a large kitchen knife, and still had the knife when arrested.

He was processed for felony second-degree attempted murder. Police say that temporary orders of protections were issued to protect the victim and witness to the incident.

Alongi was remanded to the Westchester County Jail and is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday.
