Tinted Windows Lead To Unlicensed Driving Accusation: Police

Police said the man's vehicle also had a suspended registration.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Peekskill man was accused of driving with a suspended license and registration.

The Yorktown Police Department said Vaughn Gooding, 35, of Peekskill, was arrested Tuesday and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operating with a suspended registration, misdemeanors, and operating a vehicle with non-transparent side windows, a traffic infraction.

Police said, around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, an officer conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Hallocks Mill Road said he saw a vehicle pass him with side windows tinted darker than the legal limit.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Gooding.

A routine driver’s license inquiry found his privilege to drive in the state was suspended as was his registration, police said.

Gooding was arrested and processed at the scene.

He was issued uniform traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance.

Gooding is scheduled to answer the charges March 26 in the Yorktown Justice Court.
