Upstate Man Accused Of Having Fake $20 Bill

YORKTOWN, NY — An upstate man was accused of driving with a suspended license and having a counterfeit $20 bill.

The Yorktown Police Department said Terry Walley, 28, of Cohoes, Albany County, was arrested Monday and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and two traffic infractions.

Police said, around 6:30 p.m Monday, Yorktown police were notified by the New York State Police of an attempted forged currency report at the Walmart in Cortlandt.

An officer said he located Walley's car on Mohansic Avenue after he failed to stop at a stop sign.

It was found, police said, that Walley was driving while his privilege to do so was suspended and that he had in his possession a fake $20 bill.

He was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

Walley was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail.

He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 23.
