Upstate Teens Accused Of Stealing Town Pick-Up Truck
The vehicle belonged to the Town of Yorktown Sewer Treatment Plant, police said.
YORKTOWN, NY — Two upstate teenagers were accused of stealing a town of Yorktown pick-up truck and damaging town property.
The Yorktown Police Department said a 16-year-old Syracuse resident was charged Sept. 12 with third-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal mischief, both felonies.
A 13-year-old Amsterdam, Montgomery County, boy was charge Sept. 12 with juvenile delinquency, with the underlying charges being third-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal mischief.

Police said both of their names are being withheld due to eligibility for youthful offender status.
According to authorities, shortly before 9 a.m. Sept. 12, police received a report of a past larceny of a vehicle.

Following an investigation, it was found that, around 8:30 a.m. Sept. 9, the two teens stole a town of Yorktown pick-up truck from the Town of Yorktown Sewer Treatment Plant property.
While leaving with the truck, the teens damaged the fence of the property, which also damaged the truck.
Around 11 a.m. Sept. 12, the teenagers arrived at the Yorktown Police Department to turn themselves in, police said.
The truck was later recovered in the town of Hancock, Delaware County, and returned to Yorktown.
After being processed the 13-year-old was given an appearance ticket and was due back in the Westchester County Department of Probation last week. He was released to a guardian.
The 16-year-old was arraigned in the Felony Youth Part of the Westchester County Court and is due back in court Thursday. He was also released to a guardian.
