Welcome to Yorktown Patch! 

We are a new, hyper-local Web site, dedicated to bringing you essential news and information about the town of Yorktown and all its hamlets.

Yorktown Patch covers everything from local government and police issues to arts and entertainment. We also have a comprehensive events calendar and announcements section, as well as a directory of local businesses, organizations and important people and places.

We're working hard to be your go-to destination for the Yorktown community. Check out the video to the right to learn more about us and Plamena Pesheva, your local editor and graduate of Yorktown High School.

News

Our news section is the core of our site; it features stories about topics such as politics, schools, sports and business. Our reporters and I will be all over Yorktown, learning the news, covering events and getting to know the community. We'll bring you the stories in writing, pictures and video, and allow you to comment and discuss news items.

The Directory and Local Facts

Our listings include information about local businesses, such as hours of operation and services. We also include maps and photos of most businesses in our listings section. The directory has similar information about local government agencies, civic organizations, parks and schools. Both businesses and organizations can claim their listings on our site and add more relevant information and important facts about the services they provide. 

The Local Facts section has valuable information about local officials and contact information. 

Events and Announcements

Our events calendar will be your source for everything that is happening in Yorktown. It includes everything from club meetings to recreation events and programs. You can also upload your own events to our site.

Our announcements section is a great way for you to share important accomplishments or life events with your community.  Did your child get a school award or get engaged? Did you just get promoted? Do you want to thank a neighbor for helping in a time of need? Post it on our announcements page and let everyone in Yorktown celebrate the good news.

We want Yorktown to be a part of making our site even better.  We're here to help local organizations by publicizing their news and helping them recruit volunteers, which can be done through our site's volunteer section. We want you to upload your events and announcements, tell us about the community groups you're involved in and send us news tips and story ideas.
