Winter Weather Advisories Issued For Much Of Hudson Valley
Some parts of the Hudson Valley could see up to 7 inches of snow in higher elevations.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — If your Sunday plans include holiday shopping, it would be wise to bring along your snow gear.
Most of the Hudson Valley is now under winter weather advisories from 10 a.m. Sunday to 7 a.m Monday.
The National Weather Service is calling for 3 to 6 inches of snow for Columbia, Dutchess, eastern Ulster counties; 2 to 4 inches for Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester and 3 to 5 inches for Orange County.

Meteorologists said to plan on slippery road conditions and that hazardous conditions could impact the commute Monday morning.
Hudson Valley Weather said south of Interstate 84 will see a coating to 3 inches, north of I-84 in the mid-Hudson Valley is calling for 2 to 5 inches and the higher elevations of the Catskills, Gunks and Hurley Highlands could see 3 to 7 inches.

The timing is for light snow to develop from 8 a.m. to noon, periods of light to moderate snow from noon to midnight and snow tapering off from midnight to 6 a.m. Monday.
"The trough will push through with limited moisture," Hudson Valley Weather said, "and we should see the snow exit the region by sunrise on Monday morning … but the effects could last long enough to cause some delays Monday morning, we'll have to watch as we get closer."
For southern Westchester, there is a chance of snow before 9 a.m. then rain. Rain before midnight, then rain and snow between midnight and 3 a.m., then snow likely after 3 a.m., with new snow accumulations of less than half an inch.
