Wintry Mix, Snow Possible In Parts Of Hudson Valley
Temperatures will rise slowly above freezing, turning frozen precipitation to rain.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Hudson Valley residents should enjoy the weather on Friday because the forecast calls for the possibility of an icy mix on Saturday.
“Temperatures at sunrise (Saturday) will be near freezing, especially in the Catskills where temperatures could be below freezing,” said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.
He said there should be no accumulation in the valley areas, though there could be some slick spots early Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service said there is the possibility of snow in parts of the mid-Hudson Valley.

All that changes on Sunday when the precipitation moves out and temperatures rise into the mid-50s into the low 60s Sunday.
Here is the forecast from the National Weather Service through the weekend for northern Westchester:
- Friday: A 20 percent chance of light rain. Cloudy, with a high near 53. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
- Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Saturday: A chance of rain before 9am, then a chance of rain and sleet between 9am and noon, then rain after noon. High near 43. East wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.
- Saturday Night: Rain before midnight, then a chance of showers between midnight and 3am. Steady temperature around 43. East wind 5 to 9 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 59. West wind 14 to 17 mph.
- Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 37.
- Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54.
