Woman Faces Felony Charge After Hitting Victim With Purse, 'Intentionally Causing Injury': Police
The 55-year-old Yorktown woman was released on her own recognizance while a restraining order was issued on behalf of the victim.

YORKTOWN, NY — It might be a well-worn trope in Saturday morning cartoons, but police in Westchester County say a recent assault with a purse was no laughing matter.
The Yorktown Police Department says a 55-year-old Yorktown resident has been arrested and charged with felony second-degree assault.
On Sept. 12, at 11:22 p.m., police received a report of a domestic dispute at a Yorktown home. After several officers responded to the scene, an investigation was conducted.

Police say Jacquelin Mulroy struck the victim with a purse, in order to intentionally cause injury.
She was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department headquarters for processing. After being arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court, she was released on her own recognizance.

A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
Mulroy was scheduled to appear back in court on Thursday.
