Yorktown Grange Fair Tonight, Lakeland BOE Meeting, Bye Bye Birdie Auditions

1. Grange Fair Opens Tonight

The 88th annual Yorktown Grange Fair is opening tonight at 6 p.m. The theme of this year's Yorktown Grange Fair is "Hometown Pride Shared Countywide." to read David Humphrey's blog about opening night. 

2. Lakeland Board of Education

The Board of Education will hold a work session today at 7:30 p.m. in the Lakeland Administration Building, 1086 East Main Street, Shrub Oak. The meeting is open to the public. Although there is no opportunity for public comment at work sessions, there are two opportunities for public comment at the Board's regular monthly meeting. Click here to view the agenda.

3. Bye Bye Birdie Auditions

Bye Bye Birdie auditions at the will be held on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 10 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Auditions will be by appointment only. Click here for more details. 

4. Volunteers Needed

Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam is accepting applications for volunteers, who can help with direct patient and family support, bereavement care for children and adults, spiritual comfort, fundraising and office support. In-depth training starts Oct. 27 to prepare you for this wonderful service. 5. Mostly Sunny, Slight Chance of Rain

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 83. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms at night, with low temperatures around 63.
